Am Mittwoch den 14. Juni 2023 begaben sich 9 Mädchen aus den Jahrgängen 8-10 unseres Gymnasiums auf den Weg nach Freital. Dort fand das diesjährige Landesfinale Jugend trainiert für Olympia in der Kategorie Fußball Wettkampfklasse II statt. Das Team bestehend aus Handballern, Volleyballern und Fußballern, war gespannt auf ihre Gegnerinnen.
Zum Turnier traten neben dem Team Großröhrsdorf, Mannschaften von Schulen aus Leipzig, Auerbach und Lichtenstein an. Auf der modernen Sportanlange wurden zweimal 10 Minuten mit kurzer Pause im Kleinfeld gespielt. Aufgrund der geringen Teilnehmerzahl wurde nach dem System jeder gegen jeden gespielt. Eine starke Teamleistung sorgte dafür, dass die Großröhrsdorfer Mannschaft ihr erstes Spiel für sich entscheiden konnte. Im zweiten Spiel mussten sie sich, trotz spielerisch guten Leistungen gegen die Mannschaft aus Auerbach geschlagen geben. Das Ergebnis sorgte für ein noch nicht vorhersehbaren Ausgang des Turnieres und anhaltende Spannung. Um den ersten Platz nach Großröhrsdorf zu holen, brauchte es etwas Glück und einen möglichst hohen Sieg im letzten Spiel. Motivierende Worte, lautstarke Fans, Leidenschaft und Ehrgeiz sorgten schließlich zu einem Erfolg von 7:0. Somit konnte der ersten Platz des Landesfinale gesichert werden.
Mit Beginn des neuen Schuljahres möchte sich das Mädchenteam gemeinsam auf das Bundesfinale vorbereiten, welches in Berlin stattfindet. Dort werden sie vom 17.-19. September 2023 Sachsen vertreten.
